Master Carrell Smith is the Chief Instructor and owner of Carrell Smith's Tang Soo Do
Institute in Forest Park, Georgia. Master Smith is a Sah Dan in Tang Soo Do and started his training 47 years
ago. He holds a first degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do as well as 1st Dans in Pentjak Silat, Go Ju Ryu, and
Kyokushinkai.

Master Smith is an Atlanta native and served as an Atlanta police officer for 18
years before taking early retirement. He also served as an MP in the army for three (3) years and later received
his BA/BS in Sociology/Psychology from Clark College in Atlanta in 1967. He later attained a BS in Criminal Justice
from Georgia State in 1980.

Master Smith has a deep love and passion for Tang Soo Do. He continues to spread the
art in South Atlanta and trains under Head Master St. James at Headquarters every chance he gets.
