"Master Steve F. Fernandez Sr. began his training in 1988. He is currently a 4th Degree
Black Belt (Sah Dan) with the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation and a student of Master John St. James.
Master Fernandez is the owner/Master Instructor of Apple Valley Family Karate, LLC. in Southington, Connecticut.
Master Fernandez resides with his wife and three sons, Steven, 3rd Degree Black Belt (Sam Dan), Jason, 2nd Degree
Black Belt (E Dan), and Brandon, 1st Degree Black Belt (Cho Dan).

Master Fernandez loves teaching traditional Tang Soo Do which is evident when you see the size of
his growing student population at Apple Valley Family Karate. He also loves traditional hyung (forms) and all other
aspects of Tang Soo Do. He really enjoys the "family atmosphere" of the Federation and the brother/sisterhood of
it's members. He considers his student population to be an extension of his own family.

Master Fernandez received his 3rd Degree Black Belt (Sam Dan) from Grandmaster Jae Chul Shin as
a member of the World Tang Soo Do Association. Master Fernandez opened up his own school as part of his responsibility to spread the art and continue
his own training as an instructor, Black Belt Leader, and Master.
